I tell stories. That’s my job. It’s pretty great.

They’re usually love stories, and I usually tell them at weddings.
I live near Glasgow, with my husband, our wee boy and our cat. It's where I spend my days writing ceremonies, baking and drinking cups of tea.
My approach to ceremonies is that if I have made you - and everyone else there - both laugh and cry, then I've done my job right. But when it comes to your ceremony, you’re the boss, and I will always be led by what you want. My mum says that you have two ears and one mouth for a reason - and in any case, Humanists don't like telling people what to do.
When I'm not working, I can usually be found outside (I love walks in the woods), baking or snuggled in with a book.
p.s. My name is pronounced "R'n-eet" - I get this question a lot...
I am a Humanist Society Scotland celebrant, which means I have permanent legal authorisation to marry people. HSS provide guidance and review ceremonies, provide Continuing Professional Development to all authorised celebrants, and on top of all of this, are a fab charity who do important campaigning work across Scotland on a range of issues.
